Lighthouse Tuition
(South-West)

At Lighthouse Tuition (South-West), we know that learning can feel overwhelming for some children and young people- especially those who’ve had a tricky start, been out of school for a while, or simply don’t click with the hustle and bustle of the typical classroom. That’s where we come in!

What Can You Expect?

Who are our sessions for?

These sessions are designed for children and young people who might be:

  • Feeling a bit wobbly about their learning,

  • Lacking confidence in certain subjects,

  • Struggling to focus in busy environments,

  • Or just needing a gentle, playful nudge to help them believe in themselves again.

  • Preparing for their GCSE's and need a little boost!

The Lighthouse Approach

We don’t do desks and worksheets for the sake of it. In fact, our sessions often look more like playing games than traditional tuition, particularly for our younger and SEND children!

But everything we do is rooted in proven developmental teaching techniques - so while your child is giggling, building, role-playing, or solving a puzzle, they’re actually strengthening their skills, building resilience, and learning to love learning again.

Whether your child is catching up after time away from school, transitioning from home-schooling, or just needs a boost of self-belief, we’ll meet them exactly where they are - no pressure, no judgement, just smiles and support.

We welcome the input of parents/carers, external professionals working with your children and data for children who access GCSE tuition, so we can pitch the learning to exactly what your child wants AND needs.

What your child can expect:

  • Games, movement and hands-on fun, fully tailored to their interests

  • One-to-one attention - because every child is wonderfully unique (heart)

  • A calm, low-pressure environment that is encouraging, but child led. Ideal for sensitive or anxious learners

  • Tiny wins that build into big breakthroughs! We celebrate every step and value not just the academic progress, but the growth as little people with autonomy, too!

  • Our GCSE students can expect experience using past exam papers from the same awarding body that they will be sitting their upcoming exams with. They will receive tailored feedback and mapped progression.

What you can expect:

  • A tutor who “gets” your child

  • Regular check-ins and feedback

  • A growing smile on your child’s face each week

  • Progress you can see – and your child can feel

Our goal? That your child leaves each session feeling proud, capable, and excited to come back. And that they have learned in a way that does not add pressure.
